Look what our kids did for us...

In honor of our 20th wedding anniversary, our kids prepared a delightful candlelight dinner for us. We hung a sheet up between the dining room and kitchen so they could work in privacy most of the afternoon yesterday. They set the table for just my husband and me, and set up the card table in the kitchen for the kids. Here are all the details...
We were welcomed to the Graham Kids Restaurant.
Then we were seated at a beautifully set table, including roses from our rose bushes, and painted place mats made by my daughter. They even had quiet instrumental music playing in the background.
We were given a dinner menu as well! The menu for that night was:
Lettuce salad
Chicken Cordon Bleu
Mashed Potatoes
Homemade whole wheat bread and butter
Lemonade & Water
Dessert:
Double Chocolate Mint Cookie Bars
Milk
Here are some pictures of my kids preparing the dinner (and yes they did make the dinner all by themselves - including the dessert - with only some questions for mom along the way!) and the pretty serving dishes they used:
Here is the card table they set up in the kitchen for them to eat at. All five kids ate around this card table while we ate our nice candlelight dinner in the dining room!

Wow, as Mom & Dad, you are obviously doing a great job of raising 5 terrific kiddos!
We start homeschool in the fall and cannot wait to see the God-given rewards, such as you are reaping now.
Thanks for sharing a precious moment with us.

Congratulations!
What wonderful kids you have brought up. What wonderful memories you'll all have.
The desert sounds delicious. Would they care to share the recipe?

This dessert recipe can be found on my cookbook blog here: http://nourishingcookbook.blogspot.com/2008/05/double-chocolate-mint-treasures.html
This recipe is for cookies, but bars can be made by spreading dough in a 9x13-inch pan and baking for about 20 minutes or until they test done. Yummy!
Blessings,
Sheri
