Bringing home the homeless...

We had the privilege yesterday to go visit my friend, Ronda, and her family. They just adopted a little 5-year-old boy (Luke) from Haiti. The picture here is when they met Luke at the airport. Tim and Ronda have three girls and now finally a boy!

It was so much fun to catch up and to also get to meet Luke for the first time. He is so sweet and is catching onto English very quickly. He was a little shy at first, but it didn't take too long and he was running and playing along with my 5-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter.

What a joy it was to see this little homeless boy being loved and cared for by a family who is walking in obedience to the Lord. Luke has a little sister that they are hoping to adopt as well.

It was so special yesterday...when Ronda was sharing how they had told some of their family that they don't want gifts for Christmas - just financial contributions to go towards adopting Luke's little sister (she was talking about her and her husband)...well Courtney (Ronda's 14 year-old daughter) chimed in and said, "Yeah, I don't care about getting any gifts for Christmas...I just want a little sister." Wow! How God has worked in the hearts of this family. Pray for them as they seek to proceed with adopting Luke's little sister.

In times when the economy and the future of our country seems so uncertain, there are those things that are SO CERTAIN: God's love...God's love shown in reaching out to those that are in need of love and care. We have so much to be thankful for.
